Respect Life

The vision of the Respect Life Ministry is to always support every person’s “Right to Life”, from conception to natural death. We strive to make abortion, euthanasia, and destruction of human embryos unthinkable for men and women, by providing life affirming support in the community through education, advocacy, and peaceful prayer nights. Monthly meetings, prayers, projects, donations for mothers & babies.

Invites our parishioners to join us in praying peacefully for the end of abortion and be a witness for life letting women in pregnancy crisis know that they are supported and have options.

The Gabriel Project Archdiocese Galveston-Houston

Pregnant? Worried and confused? We’re here to help you.

The Gabriel Project® is a confidential and compassionate outreach to women who are distressed over an unplanned pregnancy. We rely on local parish communities to respond in a loving manner to the needs of the mother-to-be, witnessing to the infinite and healing love of God. A trained "Gabriel Angel" from a participating church supports the woman's choice for life through friendship, encouragement, and prayer throughout her pregnancy. In addition to providing emotional and spiritual support, the "Gabriel Angel" helps the expectant mom with various practical needs, including finding resources such as the following:

  • Pregnancy information and assistance with pre-natal care

  • Maternity and baby clothes, cribs, strollers, and various baby items

  • Referrals for housing, medical care and counseling

  • Parenting support or adoption information

There is no charge for our services and we do not discriminate because of race, color, national origin, age, marital status, or religious affiliation of our clients.

If you are interested to volunteer and train to become a Gabriel Angel at SSJ, please contact Regina at RespectLife@ssjwoodlands.com.

Saving the Unborn Child

As January is the month where we focus on saving the unborn child, Prolife advocates are constantly confronted with accusations that women 's lives have been put at risk by being denied medically necessary abortions. Check out the data from the Texas Health & Human services Commission (HHSC) below to learn more about this issue.
